Interactive and Immersive Auralization

Abstract Real-time auralization is essential in virtual reality (VR), gaming, and architecture to enable an immersive audio-visual experience. The audio rendering must be congruent with visual feedback respond minimal delay interactive events user motion. wave nature of sound poses critical challenges for plausible leads enormous computational costs. These costs have only increased as scenes progressed away from enclosures toward complex, city-scale that mix indoor outdoor areas. However, hard real-time constraints obeyed while supporting numerous dynamic sources, frequently within a tightly limited budget. In this chapter, we provide general overview VR systems approaches allow them meet such stringent requirements. We focus on the mathematical foundation, perceptual considerations, application-specific design requirements practical today, future remain.
